This year, Prof. Dr. Inge Herrmann from the Swiss ETH Zurich accepted our invitation as well. The meeting called “Contribution of Pharmacogenomics to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Generalized Colorectal Cancer” was joined by our foreign scientists and students and a total of 38 researchers participated in the event, presenting mostly the results of their recent scientific activities. The event was also a working meeting of the investigators of the project UNCE/MED/006: Centre for Clinical and Experimental Liver Surgery, as well as a laboratory meeting of the Chaperon Horizon 2020 project. The programme was divided into two evenings packed with expert lectures, followed by a discussion on the subject. There was also time for new ideas for further collaboration and discussions on technical and professional issues of current projects. As the nature near the Šumava National Park offers many hiking trails and views, most participants went for a short walk to Svinná on Saturday morning despite the unpleasant misty weather. The meeting was a very pleasant inspiration and motivation for further scientific activities and cooperation.
